Introduction to Epoxy Pulled Rods

Epoxy Pultruded Rods are manufactured by high-temperature pultrusion of glass fiber filaments impregnated with an epoxy resin matrix. This product features: lightweight, stable mechanical properties, and excellent insulation performance, covering a voltage range of 10kV to 1000kV. Its tensile strength is particularly outstanding, significantly exceeding the 570MPa tensile strength of 45# cast steel. This provides a reliable foundation for the comprehensive dielectric performance of composite insulators.

Epoxy Pultruded Rod

Applications of Epoxy Pultruded Rods:

Epoxy pultruded rods are composite material structural components integrating high mechanical strength and excellent electrical insulation performance. They are mainly used to safely and continuously bear the dual functions of load-bearing and insulation under high voltage or complex operating conditions. Typical application areas include:

Medium/High Voltage Switchgear

In medium and high voltage switchgear, vacuum circuit breakers, disconnecting switches, and other equipment, epoxy pultruded rods are widely used in opening and closing push rods, operating pull rods, and insulating transmission links.

These components require frequent movement in energized environments, placing extremely high demands on the axial strength, fatigue resistance, and dielectric properties of the materials. Epoxy-coated ductile iron bars, with their axially aligned glass fiber structure, can stably transmit mechanical forces while maintaining reliable electrical insulation performance, making them an irreplaceable key structural component in switchgear.

Transformer Internal Insulation Structure

In oil-immersed and dry-type transformers, epoxy-coated ductile iron bars are mainly used for winding clamping rods, coil support columns, and core positioning structures.

These components not only perform insulation functions but also directly affect the transformer’s short-circuit withstand capability and long-term operational stability. Epoxy-coated ductile iron bars possess high strength, low water absorption, and good heat resistance (F/H grade optional), enabling them to maintain structural stability under electromagnetic forces and thermal stresses over long periods.

Instrument Transformers and Composite Insulation Systems

In current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), and composite insulators, epoxy-coated ductile iron bars are typically used as internal support frames or core rod structures.

Their function is to maintain the coaxiality and positional stability of internal components, ensuring the metering accuracy, electrical performance, and service life of the equipment. The material’s aging resistance and long-term mechanical stability are particularly critical in these applications.

New Energy and Power Electronic Equipment

In new energy systems such as wind power, photovoltaics, and energy storage, epoxy ploughshares are used as insulation support structures for converters, inverters, and DC bus systems.

Facing the design trends of high voltage, small space, and high power density, ploughshares can achieve integrated insulation and load-bearing within limited space, while possessing good vibration resistance and thermal stability.

Rail Transit and Traction Systems

In rail transit and electric traction equipment, epoxy ploughshares are commonly used in traction converter cabinets, on-board high-voltage distribution boxes, and auxiliary insulation structural components.

This field has extremely high requirements for material fatigue resistance, impact resistance, and long-term reliability. Epoxy ploughshares can maintain stable performance under vibration and frequent start-stop conditions, reducing maintenance frequency.

Industrial Equipment and Special Environments

In high-humidity or corrosive environments such as chemical, electroplating, and metallurgical industries, epoxy ploughshares can replace metal structural components as corrosion-resistant insulating support rods and structural connectors.

Their advantages lie in simultaneously meeting structural strength, insulation safety, and corrosion resistance requirements, effectively extending equipment life and reducing maintenance costs.

Summary

epoxy pultruded rods are widely used in power equipment, new energy, rail transportation and industrial fields, and are key structural materials for achieving load-bearing and insulation functions under high voltage environments.
