Epoxy Sheet Weight Calculation Formula

1. Epoxy Sheet Weight Calculation

Weight (kg) = Length (m) × Width (m) × Thickness (m) × Density (kg/m³)

If the dimensions are given in mm, you can use the following formula directly:

Weight (kg) = Length (mm) × Width (mm) × Thickness (mm) × Density (g/cm³) ÷ 1,000,000

For example:

FR4 Epoxy Fiberglass Sheet: 1220 × 2440 × 3 mm
Density: 2.0 g/cm³

1220 × 2440 × 3 × 2.0 ÷ 1,000,000 ≈ 17.86 kg/sheet

Therefore:

100 sheets × 17.86 kg ≈ 1,786 kg

2. Calculate the Number of Sheets from Total Weight

Number of Sheets = Total Weight ÷ Weight per Sheet

For example, if the total required weight is 1,786 kg:

1,786 ÷ 17.86 = 100 sheets

3. Calculate Weight Based on Thickness

For epoxy sheets with fixed length and width:

Weight per Sheet ≈ Length × Width × Thickness × Density

Therefore, for sheets with the same length, width, and density,the weight increases linearly with thickness.

For example, for a 1220 × 2440 mm epoxy sheet with a density of 2.0 g/cm³:

This formula is particularly convenient for
epoxy sheet quotation and cost calculations:

Weight per Square Meter (kg/m²) = Thickness (mm) × Density (g/cm³)

For example, for FR4 with a density of 2.0 g/cm³:

Then:

Weight per Sheet = Sheet Area × Weight per Square Meter

For example, for a 1220 × 2440 mm sheet:

Sheet Area:

1.22 × 2.44 = 2.9768 m²

For a 3 mm thick sheet:

2.9768 ×6.00 kg/m² = 17.86 kg/sheet
