Thermally upgraded paper

Thermally upgraded paper is made of 100% high-purity sufate insulation wood pulp. Itis a special paper for insulation and heat agingresistance and suitable for manufacturing transformers, electromagnetic wire or other electrical insulation equipment. It has excellentheat aging resistance and excellent electrical, chemical and physical properties.

Application of  Thermally upgraded paper

It is suitable for manufacturing transformers,electromagnetic wire,current transformer or other electrical insulation equipment. Its heat aging property is much better than normal insulation paper.

Thermally upgraded paper VS insulation kraft paper

Thermally upgraded paper and ordinary insulating kraft paper can both be used as insulation materials for oil-immersed transformers.

The key difference lies in their heat resistance. In practical applications, insulating kraft paper typically needs to meet Class A heat resistance requirements (105°C), while Thermally upgraded paper is usually designated as Class E heat resistance (120°C) for transformer applications. This 15°C temperature difference can significantly impact the transformer’s load, aging rate, service life, and design margin.

Technological Upgrade: Thermally upgraded paper utilizes specialized nitrogen modification technology. By replacing the oxygen component in the pulp with nitrogen, this material effectively inhibits oxidation and aging at high temperatures, thereby comprehensively improving its temperature resistance, insulation stability, and mechanical properties.

Higher Thermal Stability:

This product can operate stably for extended periods at 120°C, solving the problem of aging and failure of ordinary kraft paper under high-temperature operating conditions, effectively extending the overall service life of the transformer.

Excellent Electrical & Mechanical Properties:

Made of 100% electrically-grade unbleached pulp, it features stable electrical strength, qualified water extract conductivity and pH value, as well as outstanding tensile and tear resistance. It fully meets the winding stability requirements of power transformers.

Anti-aging performance reaches international standards:

Nitrogen content is stably controlled between 1.5% and 2.3%, while tensile strength and residual strength after aging reach 75%. Overall performance indicators are comparable to high-end international insulating paper.
